Journal of Hypertension
The Journal of Hypertension is the Official Journal of the European Society of Hypertension and International Society of Hypertension. The journal consistently attracts the most important and highly innovative papers from the current research; our commitment to rapid publication ensures that these are published in the fastest time possible. In addition to primary papers from world-renowned experts, the Journal contains authoritative reviews that summarize and evaluate the most significant recent developments. Also included are special reports, original short papers containing innovative and time-sensitive information.
New Editor-in-Chief
Professor Anthony Heagerty has been appointed as new Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Hypertension. He will start his new position from July 1, 2021 for a period of three years.
He succeeds Professor Giuseppe Mancia, who has served for many years on the Journal’s Editorial Board and succeeded Professor Alberto Zanchetti as Editor-in-Chief from 2018 on. He invested enormous time and effort in the Journal, encouraging its growth and quality and his contribution was instrumental to its success. We thank Professor Mancia for his many years of dedication, service and commitment to the Journal.
Tony Heagerty is Head of the School of Medical Sciences at the University of Manchester, UK, and is a previous President of the ESH and ISH, and the British and Irish Hypertension Society. He is an international authority on high blood pressure and is regularly invited to give state of the art lectures at international meetings. He is a member of the Institute of Health Sciences Diabetes and Obesity Research Network and is a Fellow of the High Blood Pressure Council of the American Heart Association.
